I’ve been so busy over the the last week that I almost forgot to post this weeks hot gig tip.

Pivot are a trio from Australian made up of Dave Miller and Richard and Laurenz Pike. The music that Pivot makes is hard to describe. This is good. Interesting music should be hard to describe. They are on Warp records, this should give you a clue. You can hear a very diverse range of influences in their music. One term that covers what they do is instrumental indie rock electronica. If you like Ratatat this is in the same hybrid scene but glitchier, grungier, darker and more diverse. Their sound has elements of Autechre, Squarepusher, Brian Eno, jazz, techno, hip-hop and much more.

Confused? Buy the album and go see them in an intimate venue while you can. Pivot recently supported Sigur Rós and are touring to promote their debut international album. They will be playing in the Netherlands, England, Ireland, France and Italy.

Check out this really cool video.
