Some of you may have seen these guys when they played in the Kleine Zaal in the Paradiso. This was in the warm summer months when there were still leaves on the trees. We cannot bring back summer but you can get another dose of Ratatat as they are playing @ Tivoli De Helling in Utrecht on Wednesday night.
At core an electronica act, Ratatat have crafted a unique sound by combining it with a rock guitar. There are many influences in their melting pot of sound from Pink Floyd to Metallica, sixty’s keyboard sounds, Aphex Twin, baroque classicism and elements of dub. They were very good live, though the gig did suffer a bit from sameness due to the fact they there is not a huge amount of difference in sound of their three album releases.
