Atmosphere are an indie hip hop duo from Minneapolis, Minnesota. They have been together for 11 years and have six album releases under their belt. Last year they released an excellent album titled “When Life Gives You Lemons, You Paint That Shit Gold” that featured heavily on my playlist. On that album tour they played a great show to a packed and enthusiastic crowd in the Melkweg with the (southern) soulful Brother Ali.
Their vibe is dark and deep, compelling, sardonic and oddly uplifting. They are currently on the road with their “When God Gives You Ugly Tour” that will feature at some festivals and a handful of venues. For the Amsterdam show they play in the small room in the Melkweg with a full band.
