Hailing from Philadelphia Ursula Rucker is a (beat) poet, wordsmith and musician. She has worked with a vast array of other artists including Wax Tailor, 4hero and the Roots.
I’ve seen her several times now, in the Bimhuis & the Sugar Factory. Her band, featuring on guitar Tim Motzer (a Philli based producer who has worked with the likes of Burnt Friedman & Jaki Liebezeit + Kind Britt) and drums Gintas Janusonis are very tight and provide an excellent musical backing.
